An Evening with the Arts - 7th Annual Dinner Auction

Join our auction chair, Terese Taylor of WARM 101.3, our board, our staff and your friends for a night of fun. Proceeds from the event help the Center continue its important community outreach programs, offer a diverse selection of classes and workshops at affordable prices, and maintain its unique historic facility. Fabulous artwork and other items for bidding during live and silent auctions, live jazz music from the Ron Bowks Music Group, a sit-down dinner and a cash bar.
It all starts at 6 p.m. with the silent auction, cocktails and live music, followed by dinner at 8 p.m., then the main event – the live auction. Special items of interest: one pair of Club Passes for the 2008 Rochester International Jazz Fest, Tickets to the Nutcracker Suite Ballet / Rochester City Ballet, aerial view of Rochester printed from 1919 glass plate negative of the Albert R. Stone collection, two one-month family memberships to Midtown Athletic Club, one three-month membership to the Jewish Community Center’s Athletic Club, and passes for rounds of golf at Shadow Pines. As a special treat you can also expect pottery by Cruz Santillan and Paty Ortiz of the Mata Ortiz village of potters in Mexico and a signature piece from world-renowned and master potter, Val Cushing.
As always, many generous area artists have donated fabulous pieces of their own work!

3rd Rochester Memorial Art Gallery Biennial

This exhibit features work by Sue Leopard, a practicing artist who creates portions of her work in the Printing & Book Arts Center at the Genesee Center for the Arts & Education.
The Rochester Biennial is an invitational exhibition of work by six contemporary regional artists working in a variety of media. Largely dedicated to mid-career artists with a demonstrated commitment to their craft, the show also includes one artist selected on the strength of his or her entry in the previous year’s juried Rochester Finger-Lakes Exhibition.
The artists selected for 2008 are Ronald Gonzalez (Johnson City) with mixed media installations; Sue Huggins Leopard (Rochester) with artist’s books; Susan Lakin (Rochester) with photographs; Todd McGrain (Ovid) with bronze sculpture and drawings; Juan Perdiguero (Oswego) with drawings; and Melissa Sarat (Preble) with paintings.
This exhibition is underwritten by gifts in memory of Diane Holahan Grosso. Gallery hours and fees apply.
