Intermediate & Advanced #2
This session of Intermediate/Advanced Class will concentrate on a specific set of surface decoration techniques which includes slip-trailing, sgraffito, Mishima (color inlay), masking, under- and over-glaze washes, underglaze pattern trailing, and using wax resist as a decorating tool. Discussion of the physical makeup of the materials will be included, as will exploration of pattern resources. Students will make flat tiles for initial practice, then be guided in transposing the techniques to 3-dimensional pots. No class Nov. 22!
