Registering for Classes at the Genesee Center
You can register for a class by calling us, requesting a brochure which contains a registration form, or visiting in person. We currently do not accept class registrations online or through email. Seats may not be reserved until payment has been received in full. Minimum age of 14 for adult classes. You must pre-register for all classes.
Payment Policy
Payment is due in full at the time of registration. The deadline for all classes and workshops is seven days before the class starts. To register less than seven days ahead, please call us to check if openings are left. Class size is limited, so please register early!
Payment Methods
We accept cash, personal check, and Visa/Mastercard.
A $25 fee will be charged for bad checks.
- For Pottery classes, please make checks payable to Genesee Pottery.
- For Darkroom classes, make checks payable to Community Darkroom.
- For Printing and Book Arts classes, please make checks payable to Printing & Book Arts.
Refund Policy
A full refund is given in the unlikely event we have to cancel a class. If you wish to withdraw from a class, you must cancel one week before the first meeting for a full refund minus a $20 registration fee. No refunds are given after this time
Darkrooms
Students who pay an additional $20 lab fee have unlimited access to our darkrooms for the duration of their class. Our hours are: Mondays 9 am-9:30 pm; Tues-Thurs 9 am - 6:30 pm; Friday Noon - 5 pm, and Sat 10 am - 5:30 pm. Please note we are closed on Sundays. Please call the Community Darkroom to reserve time.
Lighting Studio
Students who register for our Studio Lighting with Flash class have unlimited access to both our lighting studio and the darkrooms. Our hours are: Mondays 9 am-9:30 pm; Tues-Thurs 9 am - 6:30 pm; Friday Noon - 5 pm, and Sat 10 am - 5:30 pm. Please note we are closed on Sundays. Please call the Community Darkroom to reserve time.
Digital Lab
Our digital lab is open on Saturdays 11am-1pm and 2-4pm for students enrolled in our photoshop or web design classes. Please call the Community Darkroom to reserve a time.
Pottery Studio
Pottery students enrolled in any of the classes can schedule time to attend open studio. Hours are Mon - Fri 10 am - 5 pm and Sat Noon-4 pm. All persons who participate in Open Studio are responsible for cleaning up before they leave. Please call the Genesee Pottery to reserve a time.
$15 Ceramics Tool Deposit
Students will receive their own set of tools at the first class meeting with a deposit of $15. The deposit will be returned on the last class meeting with the return of the cleaned and complete set of tools in their original bag. If the student wishes to keep the tools, has not cleaned the tools, or has damaged them beyond repair, the deposit cannot be returned.
