| Class Description: |
For the past 30 years photography has undergone many spectacular changes: a shift from black and white to color, from 8x10 to wall-size prints, from film to digital; it has triumphantly entered higher education, and the fine-art market, and finally it has undergone a digital revolution. This presentation will try and examine the consequences of such changes on the production of photographs, on the evolution in photographic subjects, contents and esthetics. This lecture will provide you with a few tools to better approach and understand contemporary photography along with works of key-photographers to illustrate these points. |
